Legal Basis: The Finance Act, 2016. Traffic and Road Safety (Driving Schools and Driving Instructors)
- A certificate of competence for the applicant duly stamped and endorsed at the back by the Inspector of Vehicles (IOV) specifying the group(s) of vehicles the applicant is qualified to drive.
- A driving test revenue receipt should be attached.
- A valid provisional driving license should be attached.
- Application Form UCDP1 must be completed and recommendation from medical practitioner required.
- Application made on form TR VII (one copy) duly completed and signed by
the applicant who must be of the age of 18 years and above.
- In case of an exchange permit, the original national license (not
international driving permit) which must be valid at the time of
exchange must be attached.
